God So Loved The World

Marsha’s meditation on God So Loved the World
Scripture:
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
John 3:16-17

Meditation:
It’s easy to understand that God, as the creator of all things, would love His creation. And for Him to offer His Son as a sacrifice for the sins of the entire world goes beyond that love. Not only has He made a way for us to be forgiven, but He also wants us to join Him in eternity. It’s impossible for us to wrap our minds around eternity, but God has so much more to show us. He wants to reveal His glory to us forever - now that is love!

Prayer:

Glorious God, Your amazing love for us is beyond our comprehension - thank You for giving us Jesus and the forgiveness He offers. We are looking forward to the day when we will see Your glory and share in the wonders that await us throughout eternity. Amen

  1. Marsha, God's love for us is steady and true, even if we are not obeying His commandments. I am working on developing greater humility and the Savior's dignity and humility during his trial and crucifixion are my pattern and guide. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for Him to be sent to Herod, but Jesus's quiet dignity and humility did not waver. I am studying 1 John, 2 John, and 3 John this week and am impressed with how John exhorts the early converts to continue doing good and tells them how pleased he is with them.(2 John 1:4). I was very pleased to find your blog because I am concerned about what John calls "Deceivers" and the effect that their philosophies are having on us today. (1 John 4:2-3, 2 John 1:7) I am thinking of some of the philosophies of men which are praiseworthy in so much, but entirely overlook Jesus, the most important part of our faith. Also, any philosophy that does not have Jesus at its head is bound for eventual failure. There just isn't enough substance in man-made ideas to comfort the weary and lift up the hands that hang down. (Hebrews 12:12). I hope you have a great weekend. Sincerely,Heather Kearns.
