If I Could Go Back In Time...

If I could go back in time and tell my teenage self one thing, what would I say?

As a teenager growing up in the 60s, I had high hopes of making a difference in the world and expectations of achieving greatness through my own power.

I would tell that young woman that the best way for her to make a difference and achieve her expectations would be through the power of God and His holy Spirit within her. Until you learn to lean on, depend on and rely on God for direction and guidance, whatever you accomplish on your own, is only second rate. The things you do in Jesus' name will bring eternal glory.

I have learned that it is the seemingly small things that we do for others that give us the greatest rewards. We don't have to be famous or rich to live a fulfilled life. The key to achieving greatness and making a difference in the world is being available for God to use us as He sees fit.

Get into an intimate relationship with the one who created you and your life will be well-lived.

  1. I have often tried to do things through my own power... and I just end up discouraged.

  5. You are so right! I wonder why it is that we feel we have to do BIG THINGS for them to count, when the simple things - taking some cookies to a friend who's having a bad week, or the like - are really what makes a difference? Thank you for sharing this!

  6. love the part about the smallest things giving the biggest rewards! God loves the least of these the most. :)
